2026 Board Transition Announcement

The Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum is entering an exciting new chapter, and we are pleased to share important updates regarding our Board of Directors.

Lynn Peterson

We extend our sincere gratitude to Lynn Peterson who term has come to a closed. Lynn brought her knowledge of education and passion for sharing Colorado Springs’ history to the CSPM Board and Exhibits and Programs committee. Her leadership, dedication, and service was instrumental in moving forward the Museum’s HVAC and Building Restoration Project, Grand Reopening, and envisioning the Museum’s future. In addition to her board and committee service, Lynn also supported youth and family programs  such as the Festival of Lights Family Fun Day. Although she is stepping down from the board, she will continue to serve on the Exhibits and Programs Committee as a member.

Welcome New Board Members

Join us in welcoming CSPM’s new Board Members— Dr. José Antonio Arellano and Holly Taylor.

Dr. José Antonio Arellano

Dr. José Antonio Arellano is a writer and Associate Professor of English at the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he has taught since 2019. Arellano joined the museum’s Exhibits and Programs Committee in November of 2024. In addition to his service on the committee, Arellano volunteers at youth and family programs, served as a judge for the museum’s Regional History Day Sprague Scholarship program, and has presented as part of museum events, including our annual Gift of History Fundraiser.

Holly Taylor

Holly is passionate about Colorado Springs and how visitors can explore the city and its region. As the Manager of Destination for Visit Colorado Springs, she assists groups coming to Colorado Springs by providing insights into how they can explore our beautiful city. She brings extensive knowledge and expertise in hospitality, tourism and event planning to the CSPM Board.

We are looking forward to the insight and energy they will contribute as we continue to grow and evolve.
