Every year, the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum (CSPM) hosts the Gift of History – our annual fundraiser- to support the museum’s mission to build a lasting connection to the Pikes Peak region by preserving and sharing our cultural history. Our goal was to raise $100,000 by August 31. We have exciting news! Together, we exceeded our goal and raised $119,678 to tell more stories, to display more artifacts and expand our programmatic offerings at the CSPM.
Why support the CSPM?
As part of the Gift of History campaign, CSPM Board Members shared their personal stories of why they support and advocate for the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum.
Gift of History Reception
As part of the Gift of History, the CSPM brought together over 150 passionate individuals of history and culture to explore the CSPM Annex and hear more about the CSPM’s HVAC Renovation. Attendees enjoyed live music, food, drink and connecting with CSPM staff about how their donation will support the CSPM’s mission and vision. Special presenters shared with guests their connection and involvement with the Museum including Mayor Yemi Mobolade, Jeresneyka Rose, and Junior Docents Kimberly De Lira and Keegan Bench. During this event, we raised over $30,000 to support our community’s local history museum.
"Prior to becoming Mayor, my wife Abbey and I personally donated to the Pioneers Museum because we believe this important work of enlightenment, connection, and inspiration for the future. Each exhibit and artifact in that former courthouse, now Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum is a portal to the past and a gateway into our future. We hope you will join in giving to the Gift of History in support of our local history museum. It is a place that connects and unify us all. "

Thank you Helen McCaffrey Charitable Trust's Matching Donations
Throughout the Gift of History Campaign, the Helen McCaffrey Charitable Trust matched every donation received on after August 24 up to $20,000. This means a donation of $10 automatically becomes $20 to support the CSPM.
Helen McCaffrey was a native of Colorado Springs, and was passionate about history and preserving historical places. She supported the CSPM for many years and was instrumental in the Museum’s growth. After her passing in 2017, she left a legacy in Colorado Springs.
How your Gift of History donation will make an impact at the CSPM:
The CSPM created videos to share how your donation will make an impact over the next year at the CSPM.
