Gift of History 2022 - CSPM

Gift of History 2022

Diane Barber Stine, Development Director
Every year, the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum (CSPM) hosts the Gift of History – our annual fundraiser- to support the museum’s mission to build a lasting connection to the Pikes Peak region by preserving and sharing our cultural history.  Our goal was to raise $100,000 by August 31. We have exciting news! Together, we exceeded our goal and raised $111, 482 to support powerful exhibits, innovative programs and the preservation of our artifact and archival collection.

Gift of History Update:

Thank you from Laurel Prud'homme, CSPM Board President

Gift of History Kick Off Week

The CSPM hosted a week of programs to kick off its fundraiser from August 2 – August 6. More than 1,235 visitors explored the museum’s mission by participating in programs which included Food Truck Tuesday, Lunch & Learn, New Volunteer Session, Making Memories Downtown History Stroll, Gift of History Family Fun Day, and a Gift of History Reception.

#IamCOS Gift of History Fundraising Campaign

This year’s Gift of History Fundraising Campaign theme was #IamCOS. Earlier this year, the CSPM unveiled the #IamCOS mural in the lobby of the museum. Created by the incredible artist Paes164,  this vibrant new selfie wall illustrates our passion for using stories to connect our residents to our community and to each other. The mission is to build a lasting connection to the Pikes Peak region by preserving and sharing our cultural history. We do this work through powerful exhibits, innovative programs and diverse collections that reflect the region’s complex history. Whether you are a resident or a visitor, we want you to see a bit of your story in the museum.

During the Gift of History Reception, we asked attendees to share their stories with us. “How long have you been in Colorado Springs?”; “Why did you move to Colorado Springs?” This is what they shared with us:

Thank you Helen McCaffrey Charitable Trust's Matching Donations

Throughout the Gift of History Campaign, the Helen McCaffrey Charitable Trust match every online donation up to $20,000. This means a donation of $1 automatically becomes $2 to support the CSPM.

Helen McCaffrey was a native of Colorado Springs, and was passionate about history and preserving historical places. She supported the CSPM for many years and was instrumental in the Museum’s growth. After her passing in 2017, she left a legacy in Colorado Springs.

How your Gift of History donation will make an impact at the CSPM:

The CSPM created videos to share how your donation will make an impact over the next year at the CSPM.

Thank you for supporting the CSPM during Gift of History!
