Grand Reopening Family Fun Day

After a year-long HVAC and building restoration project, the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum is thrilled to celebrate with our Grand Reopening Family Fun Day! Families are invited to explore new and refreshed exhibits, including our hands-on children’s gallery — Camping in the Rockies. Join us on Saturday, July 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for crafts, activities, live music, food trucks, and opportunities to ignite your curiosity and discover your story!

The CSPM's Grand Reopening Family Fun Day is Saturday, July 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Help us celebrate!

  • 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Wishing Star Farms Petting Zoo
  • 10:00 – 11:15 a.m. Chamber Orchestra of the Springs  Performance – The Chamber Orchestra of the Springs is the region’s foremost chamber orchestra ensemble
  • 11:45 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. Guerilla Fanfare Performance – Composed of local Colorado musicians, and dedicated to delivering amazing brass band performances
  • 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. Grupo Marquis Performance – Formed by musicians throughout Colorado, Marquis delivers a dynamic blend of Norteño and Tejano music
  • 12:00 p.m. Cake cutting! Grab a slice of cake to help us celebrate our Grand Reopening

From 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

  • Learn to pitch a tent and cast a fishing pole with Bass Pro Shop
  • Enjoy interactive wood turning demonstrations with the Pikes Peak Woodturners
  • Play lawn games with CSU Pueblo
  • Participate in a children’s activity with McAllister House Museum
  • Immerse yourself in a historic photo in PPLD’s green screen photo booth
  • Find your camp name and make a camp necklace with Girl Scouts of Colorado
  • Make a straw rocket craft with the Pikes Peak Library District
  • Make crafts inspired by new CSPM exhibits and get your face painted
  • Build with the Rigamajig set with Pikes Peak Children’s Museum
  • Artist demonstrations featuring Kang Lee Sheppard, Elizabeth Barber, Catalina Stratienco, and Samantha Disney Saxton
