Dot Days: Cultural Connections @ Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum

Dot Days Community Festival is an annual festival organized by the UCCS Heller Center for Arts & Humanities in partnership with a range of community organizations and campus units. The festival’s name honors the contributions of Dorothy “Dot” Heller to the broader community, and will revolve around a humanistic question of interest to our community and our broader world.

The Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum is thrilled to host the “Cultural Connections” day on September 9 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

  • The Truth About 250/150 visiting exhibit all day long on South Lawn
  • Explore the museum’s exhibits throughout the day
  • 4:00-7:00 pm Art-making stations throughout the museum presented by artists featured in the museum’s 50% of the Story: Women Expressing Creativity exhibit
    • Kang Lee Sheppard: “Asian Art on Rice Paper”
  • 5:30 pm Food Forest workshop with permaculturist Kelly Bull
  • 7:00 pm Screening & discussion of The Spectacular Quiet and Grasping at Stars
    (Youth Documentary Academy, with filmmakers and Pikes Peak Poet Laureate Ashley Cornelius)
