The CSPM hosted its first Trivia Night on Thursday, March 10 as part of its History Happy Hour series. This program series invites guests (21+) to connect with local history through creative, fun, and engaging experiences. After the success of the series’ first event, Vintage Game Night in 2019, the CSPM was eager to provide a new event through Trivia Night.
Preparing History Challenges
Many members of CSPM staff worked together to prepare five rounds of challenging and entertaining activities for the event. The rounds ranged from traditional trivia questions in the “Are you smarter than a third grader?” round to a thrilling 15 minutes of solving artifact riddles in COS@150 and Evidence: Finding the Facts about General William Jackson Palmer exhibits. Even for the most clever of local history enthusiasts, the activities had them scratching their heads and excitedly consulting their teams.
Show Time!
Fourteen teams competed for prizes, which included a CSPM Museum Store gift bag, a $50 gift certificate courtesy of Downtown Partnership of Colorado Springs, and a Custom Staff Guided Tour of the CSPM. Teams enjoyed delicious food from our generous sponsor, Picnic Basket Catering, while competing in five rounds of trivia.
A 3rd Place Tie to Remember
The evening cumulated in a three-way tie for third place between the following teams— “Fab Four,” “Snakey in Sepia Tone,” and “Waiting for a Snow Day.” After 6 tiebreaker questions, the winner for 3rd place was determined to a round of Rock, Paper, Scissors. Thank you to everyone who joined us! Stay tuned for another History Happy Hour event in the future!
