The City of Colorado Springs was founded in 1871. This year, 2021, our city is commemorating our 150th anniversary, also known as a sesquicentennial. In honor of this special year we are offering an award to the best local history project. One $150 award will be given to a 6th-12th grade student competing as an individual in any category in the Regional History Day competition held at Colorado College.
