National Volunteer Month
We join the nation this month in celebrating, honoring, and thanking our incredible volunteers. On April 8, we gathered for our annual Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast. We treasure this opportunity to come together and reflect on the previous year. CSPM Director, Matt Mayberry reported that in 2022, 79 volunteers contributed 4,377 hours. Each year the Independent Sector releases the estimated national value of each volunteer hour. For 2022, they placed that amount at $29.95, which means our volunteers made a contribution of $131, 091.05! Staff members also took some time in the program to discuss the work of their teams – from collections, to education, to board and committee work, to customer service roles. Seven volunteers celebrated anniversaries – 5 years of service to 30 years! At the conclusion of the program we announced our Volunteer of the Year. This is always a very difficult decision. Each year the staff goes through a nomination and voting process to make this choice. We are thrilled to announce that the 2022 Volunteer of the Year is Tanja Britton!
