Farewell to Dedicated Board and Committee Members

During the 2023 December Board Meeting, Museum Director Matt Mayberry and incoming Board President Sam Eppley presented Sue Laabs and Laurel Prud’homme with a Construction Rendering of the 1903 EL Paso County Courthouse as a token of the staff and board’s appreciation for their longstanding support of the Museum.

Thank You, Sue Bradt Laabs and Laurel Prud'homme

Sue has been significantly involved with the CSPM operations since 2011, serving on both the Board of Directors and the Foundation Board. With her former experience in the banking industry, she brought her expertise and knowledge to the CSPM Board by serving as the CSPM Board Treasurer and as a Finance Committee Member. In addition to her board involvement, you might have seen Sue as a face painter at the annual Festival of Lights Family Fun Day or volunteer at other family programs. Sue is also a supporter of the CSPM. She is a Clock Tower Society Member and intends to leave a legacy for the CSPM’s future. She will continue to stay active on the Finance Committee after her term.

Laurel Prud'homme

Laurel Prud’homme joins CSPM Board members to share why the HVAC Renovation is transformative and important for the Museum during the 2023 Gift of History Fundraising Campaign.

Laurel joined the CSPM Board in 2017. As a native of Colorado Springs, she always has a special connection with the CSPM and remembers visiting the historic 1903 El Paso County Courthouse as a teenager. When she joined, her involvement with the Downtown Partnership of Colorado Springs provided critical connections to expand the CSPM’s brand. During her time on the board, she led the Marketing Committee to help strategize and create new opportunities to market the CSPM, its exhibits, and its programs. She served as the CSPM Board President in 2022. Laurel also raises service dogs and would bring special guests—Meeks, Edge, Oxford, and Jacoby—to board meetings, special events, and programs. Laurel is stepping down from the CSPM Board, but plans to continue staying connected to the Museum.

Linda served on both the Programs Committee and Marketing Committee when the CSPM launched its Vision 2023 Strategic Plan. She provided both committees insights into marketing and programmatic initiatives to help build the client experience and the CSPM brand. We cannot thank her enough for her dedicated years of service as a previous board member and a committee member.

“Linda has been a huge help with the Programs Committee. She always volunteers for events and is a reliable source to support Meg and Makaela. Her enthusiasm to support community activities is unbounded!"

Claire joined the Programs Committee in 2018 when she was the Urban Engagement Manager at the Downtown Partnership of Colorado Springs. Her knowledge and expertise in activating the urban environment supported strategizing and implementing CSPM programs.

“Claire has helped the Programs Committee enormously from her connections in our community. She always provides recommendations for musicians, speakers, artists, nonprofit groups, or others who can contribute towards programs and events, and also is full of ideas for new events or program additions. Her creativity has been an inspiration.”
