Last Day to Visit the CSPM Annex is Wednesday, May 1
The Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum (CSPM) HVAC Renovation and Exhibition Expansion project is one step closer to realization.
The HVAC Installation is near completion and soon the system will go through testing and commissioning to ensure functionality. Renovation work began in April to create a new exhibition gallery and publicly viewable collections workspace. Once the historic 1903 El Paso County Courthouse opens, visitors will now have access to these space that were previously inaccessible to the public.

CSPM will close its temporary annex space on Wednesday, May 1 as staff begin focusing their efforts on preparing the historic courthouse for its grand reopening. This extensive project impacted every part of the building including collection storage areas, exhibits and staff offices. Museum staff will begin moving collections to their permanent locations, reinstalling exhibits and returning to staff areas while creating and unveiling brand-new galleries for visitors
“We wanted to continue engaging our community with the region’s history. The CSPM Annex allowed the Museum to focus on this mission while our main facility was under construction. We are excited to reach this point in the project where we concentrate on creating new visitor experiences and reopening the historic 1903 El Paso County Courthouse for all residents and visitors by mid-summer.”
Matt Mayberry, CSPM Director
The public is encouraged to visit the CSPM Annex between now and May 1. The CSPM Annex is located at the Plaza of the Rockies, 121 S. Tejon Street, Suite 100 and operates on Tuesday – Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission is free to visit Black Wings: American Dreams of Flight, Ute Knowledge: Colorado’s Original STEM, and Story of Us: Pikes Peak Regional History exhibits.Â
