ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Water is a finite resource — and an essential one. For farmers, it’s everything. In this poignant new film, award-winning filmmaker Ben Knight challenges us to think about land and water use in the West through an intimate portrait of a rural farming community in Pueblo, Colorado, as they fight to protect their water and land, and in turn, their culture and livelihood.
Following the film, join us for a conversation around the past, present, and future of water use in the West.
ABOUT THE PALMER LAND CONSERVANCY
Palmer Land Conservancy exists to ensure that everything we love about the Colorado good life — its natural beauty, locally grown food, outdoor recreation — can be enjoyed by everyone now, and for future generations.
ABOUT EL POMAR FOUNDATION’S PIKES PEAK HERITAGE SERIES
At El Pomar, just as Spencer and Julie Penrose relished, we have the joy of spending our days in the shadow of Pikes Peak. We also know there’s always more to learn about the natural assets of the region surrounding America’s Mountain. In keeping with the Penroses’ interest in supporting and promoting the natural assets of the area, in 2015 we launched the Pikes Peak Heritage Series to celebrate, educate about, and explore the beautiful environment of the region through lectures, discussions, and opportunities to connect with outdoor and land use leaders.
The event is finished.
