COS@150 History Stroll
On July 31, 1871, the story of the City of Colorado Springs began. A small group of people gathered near what is today the southeast corner of Cascade and Pikes Peak Avenues for a founding ceremony. Over the past 150 years, our city grew and developed around that very spot where the first stake was driven. As we venture to and around the three historic downtown parks – Alamo, Antlers, and Acacia – we’ll explore stories of celebration, innovation, and determination.
