Group Summer Programs

Our summer programs are offered June 4, 2019 through July 26, 2019.

Are you looking for a guided group experience for your K-5 students, campers, scouts or other children’s group? Read below for more information on our summer Sensing History program! Visiting with the family? Check out our families page for a list of kid’s programs, festivals, and tours. Older than 5th grade? Plan a self-guided visit with your group.

This interactive program is excellent for groups visiting from local daycamps and daycares . The program features five 15 minute stations. At each station children will explore a museum exhibit and participate in engaging sensory activities. Each activity station is led by our wonderful Junior Docents!

  • K-5 groups must schedule their visit to the museum at least 2 weeks in advance using our Tour Request Form
  • You may plan your visit for Tuesdays through Saturdays
  • Groups may choose from two time frames for their visits – 10:00am to 11:45am OR 12:oo to 1:45pm
  • We can only allow up to 60 children per visit
    • If your group is larger than 60 please consider visiting on two separate days or finding an alternative activity for half of your group
  • We require 1 chaperone for every 8 children and ideally need a minimum of 6 chaperones so children are able to break into five groups and there is one extra adult to rotate between groups to help with restroom breaks, etc.
  • There is a recommend $2 donation per child

  • After you have scheduled your visit you will receive an email confirmation with details on how to prepare. Please split your students into 5 groups with a minimum of 1 adult chaperone per group (plus 1 extra to support restroom breaks, etc.).
  • We require one adult chaperone for every 8 students and ask that you share your expectations with them prior to the visit. Chaperones must be 18 and older and are responsible for managing your student’s behavior.
  • Please leave all food, water bottles and backpacks on your bus. Let us know if you need a backpack to carry medical supplies.
  • Upon your arrival a volunteer or staff member will greet you and take you to a location where we will welcome your group, share the rules, and answer any questions about your visit.
