Museum Discovery Program - CSPM

Museum Discovery Program

BRING HISTORY TO LIFE THIS SUMMER

Welcome to the Museum Discovery Program – a one-week immersive history experience for students entering grades 6th through 12th. The Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum (CSPM) works to build a lasting connection to the Pikes Peak region by preserving and sharing our cultural history. We are thrilled to spend an activity-packed week with you exploring the fascinating world of museums. Program participants will go behind the scenes of the CSPM, gain a better understanding of our community’s history, connect with likeminded peers, and work on important interpretive and public speaking skills.

Read the “A Summer of Discovery” article to learn more.

Please note that program content is the same for each of the four programs. We hope to offer different program themes in the future.

Our daughter has been to many camps over the years and this was one of her favorites! She has loved the Pioneers Museum since she was a little kid; it was always one of our favorite places to visit throughout the years, including many Family Fun Days. Having her present at the Family Fun Day at the end of camp felt like a full circle moment. Getting a close-up, behind the scenes look at the history of the people and places really helped strengthen the connection to her city. She’s been excited to point out buildings downtown and is looking forward to volunteering at other events with the Museum. It’s really nice to have camps for older kids — thank you for doing that.
