Can you DIG it? DIG! Day is a hands-on opportunity for families to learn about archaeology, mining, geology, and paleontology. Community partners present educational booths throughout the museum. Also, try your hand at “digging” carnival games! Drop-in to learn something new!

DIG! Day Activities

  • Sort the soil, balance the dinosaur egg and more in the DIG! Carnival Room!
  • Learn about wonderful DIRT with a Soil Scientist
  • Try your hand at excavation in our DIG pits!
  • Examine fossils and make your own to take home
  • Learn about archaeology in the Pikes Peak region
  • Get creative and make dinosaur feet and origami crafts

Thank you to our AWESOME partners: Colorado Springs TOPS, Colorado College, the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, Laura Craven (MLRA Soil Survey Leader), and the Pikes Peak Chapter of the Colorado Archaological Society.
