Story of Us Lesson Plans

The Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum partnered with the Colorado Geographic Alliance in June 2017 to offer a three-day training and curriculum development workshop for local educators. The workshop focused on local history, geography, and the use of primary sources. After exploring the museum and learning from a variety of regional experts, the participating teachers were asked to develop lesson plans utilizing the museum’s Story of Us exhibit. The lessons below guide teachers on the use of the museum exhibit and online components, developing mapping exercises, and creating annotated resource sets. Thank you to the educators that partnered with the museum to create the lessons featured on this site!
